The Rotary Club of Kosciusko will be holding a mantle throughout the month of November. Donations of new or lightly worn coats can be dropped off at Michelle Nicholson State Farm, 116 N. Jackson St.; Partnership Kosciusko Attala, 101 N. Natchez St.; Attala County Bank, 439 Mississippi 12 E.; Boswell Media, 1 Golf Course Road; and IMC Fabrication, 515 N. Wells St. All sizes of coats are needed, and the Rotary Club aims to collect 300 coats.
The Beehive Marketplace will be held on Friday, November 18 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Mary Ricks Thornton Cultural Center. The event is sponsored by the Attala Historical Society, and all proceeds are used to promote Attala Historical Society projects. For more information, contact Judi Bell at 662-289-4761.
Helping hand Taster’s lunch
The annual Helping Hands Taster Luncheon will be held Nov. 18 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the First Baptist Church’s Son Building. Tickets are $10 each and are sold at area churches. Tickets can also be purchased at the door on the day of the event. The Taster’s Luncheon is a fundraiser for Helping Hands Ministries, which serves food and clothing to area residents in need. Helping Hands Ministries has been active since 1987 and currently serves approximately 150 Attala County families each week. Food and clothing are distributed Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the warehouse location near Attala Road 4202, and the Helping Hands Thrift Store on North Madison St. is open Thursday through Saturday each week.
Helping Hands and the Kosciusko Police Department are teaming up to sponsor a Christmas toy drive. New, unboxed toys can be dropped off by the ministry building on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to noon or placed in bins at various businesses in the community.
