Downtown Geneva will host the 4th annual Jack-O’-Lantern Walk on Friday – Shaw Local

GENEVA – Sixty shopkeepers from downtown Geneva are coming together for the fourth year of the Festival d’Automne, which includes a self-guided Jack-O’-Lantern walk from 5pm to 8pm on Friday October 7 and a First Fridays event where shops stay open later, offer promotions and fall new arrivals, according to a press release.

Participating businesses will display light-up pumpkins in their windows or outside their businesses for families to stroll around town and vote for their favorites in four categories: Most Creative, Spookiest, Best Group of Three or more and the most photogenic selfies. Taken on display.

An interactive digital map with a QR code that customers can scan on their phone to see all participating local merchants.

Event organizers Kristen Cornelio of Kristen Holly and her husband Eddie Cornelio created the interactive map, the statement said.

Cornelio will create and design a fall-themed photo shoot area, located on the Kane County Courthouse lawn facing Third Street, for attendees to take photos, the statement said.

Local sponsor Twee Partees and Cornelio created a balloon arch around the photo exhibit.

Patty Donahue, owner of Image Awards, Engraving & Creative Keepsakes, created the event trophies for Jack-o’-lantern winning companies and the special event mug, which is available for purchase directly from of the company.

Geneva companies exhibiting pumpkins that evening include Nosh, Bash, Evernia, State Street Jewelers, Liz & Kate Boutique, Anastazia, Kilwins Chocolates & Ice Cream, Blinka Optical, Geneva Chamber of Commerce, The Little Traveler and Salle of Up North wine tasting.
