EL PASO, Texas — An event dedicated to filling a 53-foot tractor-trailer with donations to benefit the Salvation Army of El Paso was held Saturday.
The 11th semi-annual Stuff the Truck was organized by Barnett Harley-Davidson in conjunction with around 30 other sponsors who collected clothing, furniture and household items to donate to The Salvation Army.
Barnett Harley-Davidson’s partnership with the Salvation Army is in its seventh year, and they host Stuff the Truck events each spring and fall.
Event organizers told ABC-7 they have raised more than 200,000 pounds in donations over the past seven years.
“One of the things we always appreciate about these donations of goods is that they can teach community members how they are helping others by donating,” said Joanna Estrada, relationship manager. statements for the Salvation Army of El Paso, “This kind of donating goods is also good for the environment. You’re saving thousands of pounds from going to landfill.”
